The Voice That Saved My Life
How to stop outsourcing your wisdom and start tuning into yourself

You Don’t Need a Sign. You Need to Listen.
Dear One,
Let me tell you something I had to learn the hard way:
It’s one thing to hear your intuition…
It’s another thing entirely to do what it says.
There have been so many times in my life when I’ve felt that knowing —
oh, I didn’t call it “intuition” back then…
but I sure felt it.
That gut twist.
That inner whisper that said “don’t go there,” or “this isn’t safe,” or “say no.”
And do you know what I did?
I ignored it.
Especially in relationships.
Time and time again, I entered partnerships where something felt off —
but I silenced the whisper.
I told myself I was overreacting.
I prayed harder.
I performed more.
I tried to make it work.
And looking back now?
It wasn’t hindsight that taught me.
It was my intuition, screaming in real time — I just didn’t trust her yet.
But that started to change the day everything fell apart again.
Another heartbreak. Another emotional wreckage. Another round of “how did I not see this coming?”
And that’s when I finally asked:
What if I did see it coming? What if I just didn’t listen?
The Moment That Changed Everything
One night, years ago, my family and I were driving home from a nearby city — the kids in the back, tired but happy. We were approaching a highway exit we’d passed hundreds of times before. No reason to stop.
But then it happened.
A voice — loud and crystal clear — practically yelled in my ear:
“Take this exit. Now.”
I didn’t reason with it.
I didn’t try to make it logical.
I just knew. And I said it out loud.
The Wusband looked at me like I was nuts — but he trusted me, and we veered off the exit and took the backroads home.
We got home safe.
We didn’t think much more of it…
Until the next day, when we learned that just a mile beyond that exit, at nearly the exact time we would’ve been there — a major accident involving a semi truck and multiple cars took place.
That moment didn’t just affirm something.
It rewired me.
Because if I had not listened - I wouldn’t be writing this story.
Trusting your intuition isn’t just about relationships.
It’s not just about boundaries or decisions.
Sometimes… it’s about life or death.
And if you were raised in religion?
You were probably taught to look upward.
To pray. To ask. To wait.
But rarely were you told to look inward.
Hear me out: I’m not against praying or speaking to the divine.
But religious environments don’t want you to tune in to your inner knowing. Not because you couldn’t.
But because they knew:
The moment a woman starts trusting her own voice, she becomes ungovernable.
Here’s the truth, love:
You don’t need a mediator.
You don’t need permission.
You don’t need a pastor or a prophet or a sign.
The divine is already inside you —
alive, shimmering, maybe a little messy…
but always ready to speak.
Through your dreams.
Through your gut.
Through that quiet whisper that says:
“This is your path.”
So take a breath.
Place your hand on your heart.
And listen.
You don’t have to earn your way home.
You are the home.
And your knowing has been here,
waiting patiently
for you to return.
With love and fire,
Debby

🌸 3 Ways to Practice Listening to Your Intuition
1. The 3-Breath Check-In
Pause.
Place your hand over your heart.
Take three slow, intentional breaths and ask:
“What do I need right now?”
Trust the first whisper — even if it doesn’t make sense.
2. The “Tiny Yes” Tracker
Before making even the smallest decision today (what to eat, what to wear, where to sit), pause and ask:
“Which option feels more peaceful in my body?”
Write it down. Your body’s yes will grow louder the more you listen.
3. The Memory Bridge
Recall a time you ignored your intuition… and later wished you hadn’t.
Now ask yourself:
“What did it feel like in my body back then?”
This builds your inner recognition — so next time, you’ll know.
✨60-second Energy Reset: The Ground-Clear-Align Flow”
Inspired by Jeffrey Allen’s Duality Energy Tools
1. Ground Your Energy (20 seconds)
Sit or stand comfortably.
Visualize a beam of light extending from the base of your spine deep into the Earth.
Imagine this grounding cord anchoring you, providing stability and support.
This grounding technique helps you connect with the Earth's energy, promoting a sense of security and presence.
💨 2. Clear Your Energy Field (20 seconds)
Envision a gentle, golden light descending from above, washing over your entire body.
As this light moves through you, imagine it dissolving any tension, negativity, or stagnant energy.
Allow this cleansing light to flow down through your grounding cord, releasing all that no longer serves you.
Clearing your energy field in this way can help remove energetic blocks and restore balance.
✨ 3. Align with Your Higher Self (20 seconds)
Bring your awareness to the area above your head, your crown chakra.
Visualize a radiant light connecting you to your higher self or the universal source of wisdom.
Feel this light infusing your being with clarity, purpose, and alignment.
Aligning with your higher self facilitates access to inner guidance and a deeper sense of connection.
Affirmation to Seal the Practice:
“I am grounded, clear, and aligned with my highest truth.”
🎨 Art Ritual: Listen to your gut and create a Soul Scribble!
A simple practice for to practice getting out of your head and listening deep inside
Prepare:
Find a quiet space: Choose a place where you won't be disturbed.
Gather supplies: You'll need a pencil or marker and paper.
2. Begin the Scribble:
1st: Close your eyes and put your writing utensil to your paper.
Simply make a mark, a scribble, with your eyes CLOSED on a piece of paper. Any size paper and any type of pen, pencil or marker will do. Continue making a scribble without lifting your writing instrument for 5 seconds.
2nd: Open your eyes.
3rd: Ask yourself, “What does this make me think of?”
4th: Allow your left brain to contribute “See, you can’t even see anything!” and politely ask it to take a well deserved rest.
5th: Rotate the paper for a different perspective if you still can’t see anything.
6th: Don’t judge what you see. Just start to turn the scribble into an angel, dragon, bunny, truck, etc.
7th: Add to the scribble–accessorize!–for at least 3 minutes.
8th: Ask yourself, “What is the message?”
Write down your observations, insights, and any connections you make with your inner world.
Your choices are sacred.
Your voice is trustworthy.
And you can honor whatever comes to you. you
